THE LATEST PAINTING(S) THAT CAN BECOME TWO

CONVERSATIONAL HARE – DO WE WANT AETHERICISM TO EMERGE FROM ITS ENCHANTED STORY TO BE A REAL FORCE?

NEWS

We have developed nearly 20 Wikipedia pages with the help of some esteemed academics  (some pages arriving soon).

They haven’t been uploaded yet online – still in the Wikipedia’s sandbox. I have heard a lot of discussion about people’s love-hate relationship with the Wiki world but we are going to give it a go – saves explaining ourselves repeatedly! So, we are just awaiting approval from the wiki ‘thought police’.

Some of the wiki pages have been written by the following:-

  • Prof. Tom McLeish, Professor of Physics at the University of Durham is writing on the Divine and Physics. This piece will be added to his blog too.
  • Dr Mick Collins is writing on ‘Aetheric Action’ (a new term coined by Mick).
  • Rev.  June Boyce Tillman is writing on spirituality and music which I hope will compress some of the thinking in her new book Experiencing Music.
  • Kevin Tingay is writing a piece on ‘Aetheric Art through the ages’, better known today  as occult art or hermetic thinking plus art. I hope soon to welcome these areas into the growing Aetheric Art movement, or at least a branch of it!
  • We are trying to convince the lovely Dr Andrea Ellis to write a short article on ‘Animal welfare and Aethericism’. Watch this space for confirmation.

All the wiki pages will also be uploaded onto my two websites at www.degard.organd www.aethericism.com.  In this way the true copy of the text is retained before the online ‘guerrillas’ get to the copy (or is it gorillas – sorry bad joke J - couldn’t resist).

CELEBRITY LETTERS

Around 60 celebrities including royalty, pop stars and academics will be sent an exquisite letter showing them their Aura Pure in paint.

Results of this outreach will be included in the next Ver Sacrum. Some of the Brits include Mo Farah, Kate Moss, Elton John and David Furnish, Ringo Starr, Stephen Hawking, Cheryl Cole, Leah Weller (Paul Weller’s daughter), Kelly Brook, Katherine Zeta Jones, Jamie Oliver and most of our Royal Family including the Queen, Prince Phillip, Princess Beatrice, Camilla Parker-Bowles, Kate Middleton and Prince William. Any help very gratefully received!

THE LATEST PAINTING THAT CAN BECOME TWO

Brad and Angelinia AP
Brad and Angelinia AP 800 x 1200 x 22 cm oil on canvas with gold and silver leaf

The ‘Brangelina’ split in Art. But are they splitting?

The painting interestingly shows a lot of space between them – the painting isn’t cut yet because it is a very sharp division and some areas that are very unique are separated and lost. I am assuming this is some of the aetheric distress they are encountering themselves.

CONVERSATIONAL HARE

DO WE WANT AETHERICISM TO EMERGE FROM ITS ENCHANTED STORY TO BE A REAL FORCE?

The question that is nagging me is: how can we bring Aethericism to the fore?

Or in truth, do we really want to retain the magic of the ages and not really uncover magic as just tricks of nature ?

My view…. listening to Mike Massimino, the NASA  astronaught, talking about his view of earth from space. With all that scientific understanding, the best of human engineering and ingenuity whilst he is orbiting the earth, this is what he said:-

“this would be what you would see if you could be in heaven, if you could be in heaven this is what our planet would look like, and then I dwelled on that for a moment and thought no that’s wrong that’s not it, its more beautiful than that this is what heaven must look like. I felt like I was looking into a paradise…” http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b07zxh6s  (1 hour 20 minutes or so into the show)

I don’t think revealing heaven reduces its magic – what do you think?

Reading Chapter 9 of Marco Pasi’s, ‘Esotericism Emergent: the Beginning of the Study of Esotericism in the Academy’, Marco has given an incisive account of the history of Western Esotericism as a discipline. A discipline which moves through phases of popularity: https://www.academia.edu/29108075/Esotericism_Emergent_The_Beginning_of_the_Study_of_Esotericism_in_the_Academy.

The next upcoming ESSWE conference is discussing Esotericism and deviance in society.

It seems to me that this deviance or taboo has emerged in very specific areas. In the UK in our great universities the taboo is strong although credence is now given to the conversation. In Europe, the topics still seems to be bubbling and I think it is no coincidence that the Outsider Art Fair 2016 was held in Paris not London.

In literature, aethericism is well on its way. I have been listening to Dan Brown’s ‘Lost Symbol’ (easy listening whilst painting!) and the main character, is working in a then established ‘(g)noetic sciences’.  (Some of the scientists will be amused to hear that the RS has been the secret stashing hole for Aetheric knowledge for all time!)

We just went to see Dr Strange last night; great family movie and the physicist behind some of the thinking explained the concepts in a fascinating article

I am about to do a talk at Spirituality and Music – I look forward to hearing how the deviant esotericism might be in music.

So how can we move this conversation on from deviance to action……..

David Lorimer has written a Commission Report to which members of SMN are making suggestions now. David’s great aim is to create a centre for what is becoming known as ‘extended science’. This seems like a superb aim to me.

I will be putting on a symposium next year with key speakers from the ‘extended science’ world, outsider art world and esotericism research. I hope this will offer a firm foundation on which to build a genuine centre.

Please let me know what is going on in your areas of research and your views.
